Hi Sheila

I’m Swiss and therefore not very used to Irish names. Are there any rules of how to spell those names? I’m very interested in Irish culture and really fond of your books.

Here some names I kept wondering about the meaning (and pronounciation): Sorcha (niece of Isobel in ‘Isobel’s Wedding’) and Siobhán (quite common Irish name, isn’t it?).

I wonder do you mean: Ita which is also spelled Ide. It was the name of a wise Irish saint.

I am doing family research, I was born in Dublin. Would you know anything about the Name Ite? is it shortend for something? thanks Dorothy
