Of course literacy is important in daily life but reading is also such a joy, everyone deserves the opportunity to read for pleasure. I'm currently managing a new International survey for the Central Statistics Office that will measure adult literacy and numeracy skills and hopefully identify improvements required in our education policy etc. So it's made me take alot more notice of the Open Door Series.
