AboutI wanted
to write about a family feud. I wondered what would make two sisters not
speak to each other for a long period of time and decided that it would
have to be a man! I also wanted to write about how two very different people
cope with unexpected events and a little bit about the rivalry between them.
People say that there is a lot of family life in my books.
I think the older you get the more you realise the impact your family has
on you - in the case of Caroline and her sister, family becomes very important.
Each chapter heading is a description of a constellation - I've always loved
astronomy and looking at the night sky. The constellations have wonderful
names and stories associated with them and refer, very loosely, to events
in the chapters.
Reviews
- "Sisters need one another but what if the person who betrays you is
the sister you love? Can you forgive her for ruining your life or will you
get even by ruining hers? It’s a great book to escape from reality with
and should appeal to all who like a good tale well told" –

Times
- "She is a good storyteller, her characters emerge as rounded and believable
…Caroline’s Sister is a fascinating read, a book that can easily be packed
into a suitcase and travel the world!" – Irish Examiner
