The idea for this book came about from reading so many articles about women's biological clocks ticking and the choices between career and children. I wanted to write about a woman who really doesn't hear hers ticking (I was fed up listening to arguments that women were desperate to have children but had to wait).

My heroine, Alix, isn't ready to have kids at all and loves her job. She's a dealer, so this is another 'write what you know about' book. But her boyfriend wants her to settle down and have a family. And when she says no he breaks up with her. However since she's always been in control of her life and career and men don't normally break up with her, she freaks out by it. At one point she practically stalks him because she can't accept that it's over.

This book is about being true to what your really want but being sure you know what it actually is. Because it's about a woman dealer lots of people have asked me if it's autobiographical - the answer is no!
