Hi Sheila
So far I’ve read the books ‘bad behaviour’, ’someone special’, ‘Isobel’s wedding’, ‘anyone but him’ – but most of all I enjoyed ‘How will I know?’.
I just wanted to let you know that – even in Switzerland – you have a huuuuuge fan. The next time (rather sooner than later!!) I’m visiting Ireland I have to stock up on your books.
Further more I’d like to thank you – without your books my English would be (even) worse than it is. It’s great fun to learn a language with books like those you write.
Keep on writing – you’re great!
All the best,
Pascal

Hello Sheila,
I just looked through your Irish name section and as far as I know Bree is the anglicized form of Bryg which mean mighty or high (It`s my daughters name so I feel somehow forced to correct this
).
I wish you the best of luck for the future and for your writing!

Hi Sarah
I’ve heard of the name Bryg but in the book that I have it suggests it’s a variant of Brigid. However since Brigid means ‘exalted one’ I guess the meaning is still the same.
I hope your daughter is living up to her name!!!
best wishes
Sheila

Hi Sheila,
I’m a 20 year old German girl who never really cared about books and reading. Some days ago, when I was kind of bored, I found your book “How will i know” at my boyfriend’s. I started reading the first page and somehow I couldn’t stop. So now I’m on page 230 and I’m amazed that for the first time in my life, I really enjoy reading! The story is very touching and exciting. My boyfriend also has “Bad Behaviour” so that will be the next one to read.
PS: I like the simple style of your writing that makes it easy to understand, even for Germans.

I’ve just finished ‘Perfect Man’ and devoured the last few pages, feeling that I really got to know the characters. Can’t wait to read ‘Stand by Me’, lots of love xxx

Hi Sheila, I so wanted to let you know just how much I have enjoyed reading your books. My first was Bad Behaviour, it was astounding! I was on holiday in Portugal with my daughter and relaxing with a lovely book. I was reading a story about a girl that ‘was’ my daughter! Only the names were changed. I told her about the coincidences in the book but she thought I was having a laugh ! It took me months to get her to read it and then she couldnt put it down. She thought you were ’spying on her’! Seriously though, you really did capture the essence of so many young ladies who wish to be taken seriously and ‘prove they can do the job’ despite all the rotten things that life can throw at them, they are just as feminine and lovely as those who do not chose to make such career choices.
The next book that I read was ‘Someone Special’. I just loved that book. I cant wait to get a copy of your latest book ‘Perfect Man’ Keep writing those brilliant books. My best wishes, Carol

Dear Sheila, just wanted to say thankyou for all your books. I have read all of them except the new one (I only have paperbacks) and cannot say I have a favorite. Most of your books I read in one sitting, and then my sister steals it! Keep up the good work, and thanks again. Laura.

Just finished reading this book.
It was very strange as I just came back from a cruise in the Meditterean and not knowing that this was about a cruise before I read it.
I was also in Malaga and my husband has a cousin in Fuengirola not far from Malaga so we try to see him everytime we are in Europe.
We live in canada.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and also the nautical info before the chapter.
I have rad many of your other books.
Well Done!!!

Dear Sheila,
I cant believe I am finally writing to you after reading so many of your books ! The only ones I’ve missed out on are Isobel’s wedding, Someone special and the Perfect Man… Can’t wait to get my hands on them..Your books came into my life when I seriously needed that change of pace.. It made a difference, I really can’t put it into words.. but an example would be this- My sister never reads books about people and relationships as such, she is more of the Jeffery Archer fans.. but she picked up ” You’ve got to go” from my book collection and she finished the entire book ! Which tells me that there is one more person to whom ur writing made a difference to. Please continue writing. I stay in India and althought the cultural differences are huge, your books made me search the net to learn more about Dublin and other cities…
Thanks for taking the time to read this. I appreciate it. Thanks again.

Thanks so much for a very nice story

Hi Sheila
I write a special subject for my school leaving examination and it’s about you and your books! I have some more questions about your biography if that would be OK with you because it would help me so much!
My Questions are:
Your exact birthday
your school career (I Don’t know how to say that right^^)
do you have brothers or sisters? and what did your mum professional? because you said you mother accepted a job for you!
When did you start writing full time?
and what do think will your future be like? do you want to do new things or stick to writing?
and what was your first book? the one this irish company didn’t want?
It would be so helpful if you could write me some answers!
Thank you
all the best
Lina
